People may ask what ACE is and who founded it. To answer the question, ACE is an alternative school program for high school students. It’s a place where anyone is welcome to come in and possibly attend a positive and diverse school environment. The kids at ACE are pushed to excel. The students get recognition and positive strokes for academic growth and exhibition of excellence. It’s a place where students can succeed all founded by Joe Pepin. Joe himself was a compassionate and caring man who loved his community.

This new semester, ACE welcomed about fifteen new students. As a student who has been here since last semester, I’m happy to see new students trying to better themselves by choosing to work in an environment that is better for them, and by this, they will become even better than what they are. Here at ACE, I have grown and become better myself and I would recommend this place to many people who I think need a wonderful place like this.

Next are interviews I have done with some of the new students who joined our ACE family this semester. The first interview was with Janluis. I asked him “Why did you want to come to ACE?” His answer was, “I wanted to come to ACE because I needed an environment that was going to be more attentive and engaged with me.”

The next interview was with Elijah P. My question to him was “How do you like ACE?”  His answer was “I like ACE. It is a place where I can focus and the teachers are nice and helpful.”

The next interview was with Jamauri and the question was “Would you recommend ACE?”  He said, “Yes I would recommend ACE. It’s a place where I got myself together and the environment is fun and comfortable.”

The last interview was with Jalen and I asked “How has ACE helped you grow?” His answer was “ACE has helped me grow because it is such a diverse and flexible environment and the teachers sit there and help me work through a task.”

We would all like to welcome our new students and hope they have a successful ACE high school experience.
