ACE opens its doors for a full Thanksgiving Feast the Tuesday before the holiday.

On Tuesday, November 21st ACE hosted a Thanksgiving feast for the community. ACE Thanksgiving is a day ACE gives back to the community and shows how grateful it is to be up still and running as an alternative program.

Anyone was welcome to come in, get food, dine in, and have a good time. ACE provided turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet potato, cranberry sauce, green beans, and many pies, cakes, cookies, and more tasty treats for desserts. Serving the food were ACE students.

Fifty-five percent of the school (49 ACE students) stayed after school to volunteer and help. During the school day, all students and staff were helping set up. Lots of families and people showed up and enjoyed some food. Former students who attended ACE also showed up and interacted with old teachers and connected back with the school.

Four ACE students were interviewed. First up was Wolf who stated she had a good time. She also worked as a busboy and helped set up. Second up was Emily. She had family come and she also worked as a server. She said she enjoyed her time and she would come and help again. Next up was Khriselynn. She worked in the room where the desserts were being served. She also walked around with drinks asking people what they would prefer to drink, cranberry apple, or lemon juice.

The last student interviewed was Aniyah. Aniyah’s family came to the Thanksgiving and had a nice time. Aniyah said it was great to bring her mom around to meet friends and teachers. Overall the students said they had a good time and would do it again. They enjoyed spreading positivity and giving back to the community.
