RODTANG VS TAKERU II

Tensions rose at the press conference for Rodtang “The Iron Man” vs. Takeru “The Natural Born Crusher” II. It is well known that both fighters had something to defend Rodtang’s interim flyweight kickboxing world title and Takeru’s dignity. Takeru had an embarrassing performance in their last fight, saying, “It was probably the most humiliating loss I’ve ever experienced.”

At the April 24th press conference, he also said, “No matter how it plays out, I will knock Rodtang out and I will win.” This is a very bold statement, especially considering Rodtang isn’t just tough, he’s only been knocked out once, back in 2013, truly living up to the name “The Iron Man.”

Rodtang responded by saying, “If he’s really that confident, then for the first two rounds, can we fight using only boxing?” clearly taunting Takeru.

Fight day came faster than expected, and both fighters walked to the ring looking calm and ready. As soon as the bell rang, Rodtang, as usual, pushed forward with punches and low kicks. Takeru responded well, exchanging punches and low kicks while timing everything.

During the second round, Takeru dropped Rodtang twice. Rodtang claimed the first one was a slip, telling the ref and shaking his hand aggressively. By the fifth and final round, Rodtang didn’t look like himself. He wasn’t getting aggressive like he usually does after being hit. It looked like Superman had just been hit with kryptonite for the first time.

Then, for the final time, Takeru knocked Rodtang down, ending the fight in a TKO after the ref stopped it. This was a fairytale ending for Takeru winning the interim belt and a heartbreaking one for Rodtang. Both fighters were sobbing backstage, but for completely different reasons.
