Kiyu Prince at ACE

ACE welcomes in new students that transferred from DHS. These students were accepted to attend our school and join our ACE family. With great big smiles and helping hands, ACE students took them in with open arms. Our new students are Kiyo Prince, Angelina Acevedo, and Anyiah Howard. I interviewed these students to get their points of view on becoming an ACE student and how their experience has been.

Beginning with Angelina Acevedo’s interview. I asked her “How is your experience so far?” She responded with, “ I love it, everyone is so sweet.” Coming from Angelina’s mouth, she agrees with the welcoming spirit ACE thrives to represent.  Getting to know Angelina more, I asked her the proceeding questions, “ What are your hobbies?” She answered, “I like to paint and read.” The preceding question was, “What are your values and morals?” She replied with “Money – I’m just trying to get better. Go with the flow.” Wise words from Angelina.

The second student that I interviewed was Aniyah Howard. Aniyah can come off as distant, but trust me she just is a sweetheart. Beginning with the question, “Is Ace what you expected?” She responded with “I thought there were more kids. Hearing about ACE doesn’t picture what ACE actually looks like until you see it.” I also asked Anyiah, “What is your goal in high school?” She answered that she wants to  “graduate on time at least.” An honest goal that is important to Aniyah.

I concluding Kiyu Prince. The question I led with was, “Is ACE what you expected?” He replied with, “No, I thought it was going to be crusty like DHS.” Sharing his thoughts about his first impression of ACE, the following question I asked was, “Did you know anyone prior to coming to ACE?” His answer was, “Yes, Dayannara, Wolf, and Brianna.” Kiyo has been welcomed by his peers. Kiyo’s fiery spirit roams the halls and conjoins with the ACE spirit.

Although there are more new students attending ACE, these three students have shared their experiences and views on coming into ACE reminding us how it felt when we first stepped into the ACE building. By showing compassion and support, we welcome these students to ACE!
