Teens and Driving by Luis Saude Martins

Today in the 21st century we are handed all kinds of problems and changes that people in other times did not have to deal with as much. One of those problems is teens and their cars. Back in the day a car used to be basically a way of transportation and a valuable possession. Now days it seems like teens have no sense of value of themselves and others to be doing things that can injure them, the rate of teen accidents has and is continuing to go up tremendously.
Kids continue to think cars are just cars and forget the true dangers of being behind the wheel let alone being in the car and are taking it for granted. People are beginning to think of cars as toys more than vehicles leading to all the crashes. Teens are not thinking about the risks anymore. According to D.M.V the crash rate per mile increase three times when it is after 9:00 pm.
Statistics show that every year in the U.S five thousand teens die to fatal injury caused by car accidents from the age 16 to 20 yearly and around 400,000 drivers age 16 to 20 will be seriously injured. Many people think street racing is fine and not really a problem Ryan says, “Street racing is a fun activity until someone gets hurts, because then it isn’t a game anymore.” Most of the teens have been in tons of situations where they could have been hurt.
Teens do not focus on the responsibilities that come along with driving. Sixty percent of teenager’s text while driving. It’s like they start worrying about what looks or is cool and what their plans are for the night but stop thinking about what dangers they can seriously put their lives and the lives of others in.
You might think it’s a joke to speed and not pay attention but this is what happens when you think its funny a 227 car pile up and 12 busses all smashed together all after one single car flipped over after loosing control
