Stay Alive ACE by Jessica Mcgee

ACE is a very special place .I couldn’t have made it on my own at a regular high school. I’m not saying that high school isn’t special, but for the kids who come here need second or more chances to obtain the education they deserve. ACE provides a healthy atmosphere to learn ACE is for kids like me who need the extra help to graduating and this school is the one who can give that to us. When asked why should ACE be here? Jeanne Kennedy said, “ACE should be here because it’s a wonderful teaching concept for kids who can’t handle the big environment at DHS.”
Loosing a teacher is not a smart decision. If making this school filled with more kids is what needs to be don’t then fine, but to loose a member of our team is devastating. I can’t help but think how much different this school would be with out all the people who make it work. When asked why all the teachers should stay here Tashiana Mayfield said, “Each teacher has a different unique quality those individuals that attend ACE like. They are very informative about school and life without school.”
I want ACE to stay alive and be the school it has always been. ACE probably couldn’t make it with only 9 teachers and over 120 students. We come here to learn and be part of the ACE family. When you enter this building you feel welcomed by teachers and students and that just makes your whole day go by so much easier. When asked what is special to you about ACE Sani Nabi said, “ACE is special to me because we all respect each other on a bigger level.”
This school is a better place for most people. When asked why you did come here or why are you here Sharhonda Perkins said, “I came here for a new beginning and a fresh start.” When you attend this school the teachers and students never judge you on your past. They give you a chance to correct the mistakes you have been making. This school is a school of chance. They give you so many chances and it helps because that’s what most people need is just a hand.
When asked what does ACE mean to you Mary Wooster said, “ACE means Family.” ACE is a school of teamwork and respect. We have so many opportunities here that most high schools don’t have. I am proud to call the Alternative Center for Excellence my high school and I will be until the day I die. I think this school should stay the way it is from now until the end of ending of the school.
