*Teen Violence*
By: Gina Muzzillo
Through the years there has been a lot of teen violence. There are more teens having fights than I have ever seen. Teens fight because they think it is cool when they beat up somebody and it really is not.
Teens do not realize what they can do to the kids that they fight. People can do a lot of damage and not think anything of it and just laugh. Daniel from Ace says that the main reasons for fighting is about what people say about you and the main reason “DRAMA”. That he said she said stuff. The last fight Danny was in was last year because this girl called him a bad name. Danny says how he prevents teen violence is to walk away.
Half of the kids in Ace say that they think fighting is acceptable because you need to defend yourself, the other half say that they think fighting is not acceptable because there is no reason to. They say people just want to look cool and say they beat up somebody or Oh hey I got into a fight because they just want to start a conversation.
Teens need to learn that fighting is not the answer and just to walk away. People may say you’re scared or you’re a punk but hey so what, why does that matter? Don’t get yourself into trouble if you don’t need to. There is no right answer for fighting. No body needs to fight.
We all need to get along and stop acting like young children. Get over yourselves, you’re growing up to be an adult. Set an example for the young so they know what’s right.
