No Child Left Behind by Dave Canavan

No Child Left Behind is a law and an expectation that will be the most influential factor in education for the next few years. It is an opportunity to focus on helping individual students tap their potential as learners and grow academically to be well prepared for whatever is their next step after high school graduation.
The Alternative Center for Excellence has been in business for over 26 years and the success of individual students has always been the focus. Last year the name was changed to emphasize the importanceof focusing on improvement and to make a commitment to growing personally and a c a d e m i c a l l y.
The large majority of students who come to ACE change in noticeable ways.
*Their sense of self-respect improves.
*Their attendance increases.
*Their awareness of personal impact grows.
*Their commitment to community service deepens.
*Their relationships at home are closer and more positive.
*Their attachment to ACE strengthens as participation and ownership develop.
*Their vision of their personal future is sharper and broader.
The intent of the new law is to give students the skills to unlock content and to transform content into something that is their own unique creation and their own unique gift to themselves and to the c o m m u n i t y. Albert Einstein said, “Not everything that can be counted counts. And not everything that counts can be counted.” Graduates of ACE know that they count and that what they say and do counts. Their confidence, competence and contributions have increased significantly.
The return on investment in the Alternative Center continues for individuals, families, and the Danbury community.
