Who Could Ever Forget?
(a collaborative poem by the digitialenglish class)
Five years have passed swiftly.
It seems like only yesterday and then
it seems like a hundred years ago. (Joanne)
but it was only years,
a tragedy stopped
the busy city flow [corey]
they didn’t tell us in school that day,
I guess they didn’t know what to say [phoebe]
We lost many friends,
we cried for many we didn’t even know [shiya]
Sad fall memories.
All they have left is to pray to God [queenie]
people praying for their fate,
while a tragedy occurs and they wait,
and are so willing to give up anything
to see their family’s face. (Taurean)
today is a day to remember
thousands of our love are gone [karli]
who could ever forget?
we will remember,
but we will also grow and change
for the better. [dana]
The better,
The love and embrace of Americans
Flag worn like a blanket,
Warm and safe. [chris b]
it will be in our memories forever
people crying,
we have to stick together [john]
If I get to see tomorrow,
I hope it will be worth all the pain. [Laura}
We will always be by our flag,
To protect and obey our nation. [Raffi]
Tears of sorrow mourn in the eyes
of loved ones lives clashed in the sky,
All is still, covered in grey
With angel songs they begin to pray.
Now in heaven as angels they sing,
Whom God gave them their angel wings. [syrbreana]
