On April 25th, our social worker, DJ Jiminez, gathered a small group of 6 students who like cars to go to the New York City International Car Show at the Javits Center. The show is a popular event that displays lots of cool cars.
Visitors enjoy seeing old cars from back in the day, and one interesting section featured a collection of old police cars. There were many sports cars and cars that were heavily modified to make them faster and also make them look better.

The Javitz Center has 3 floors displaying different car-related attractions. There are many fun things to do besides just looking at the cars. On the first floor, visitors are allowed to go around and get inside the cars to see what they are like on the inside. Automakers had their newest models on display there, and some of the dealerships at the show had racing simulator games. They also had a scavenger hunt, so anyone who asked a worker would be given a paper with a task to complete. Anyone who completed all of the tasks got a prize of coasters, a t-shirt, a card holder, and a poster. Jordy, Max, Javen, DJ, and Lucas all won prizes from the scavenger hunt.
Downstairs, there was a section for visitors to test cars’ acceleration. They were pretty fast because they were electric vehicles, and there were a lot of different cars to choose from.
