This year (ACE) Danbury’s alternative high school decided to take a twist on spreading holiday cheer.

Joanne Tolles, a teacher here at ACE, put together and organized “The Great ACE Holiday Snowflake Project 2022” to bring message paper snowflakes to the patients and family members at the Praxair Cancer Center across the street.

Each guidance group was given all the supplies which consisted of cardstock paper, scissors, tape, staplers, sticky notes, glitter, cancer ribbons(assorted in different colors), and a “how to video” on how to make them. Each guidance happily created the snowflake messages.

The whole school ended up contributing and all together we made 57 jumbo snowflakes.

As Joanne explained, “It is our ACE way of giving back in this season of giving! Last year we did holiday cards.”

The cards were delivered to Praxair on Tuesday, December 20th, and received by Social Worker Amy DePaolo. the snowflakes were displayed in the two main waiting rooms at the Cancer Center and arranged into small and very large snowflakes. The patients at Praxair enjoyed reading the messages and themes of each snowflake.

Here is a slideshow about the project.

Now who will we be bringing holiday cheer to next year?
