New Students at ACE

ACE has six new students that came in the month of March. Why ACE? We interview five of the six new students and fount out a little bit about why they decided to come to ACE. The six new students were Jessica McGee, Sam Rodriguez, Christopher Ogiste, Lauren Symon, Nick Sabbagh, and Sharhonda Perkins.

We started off by asking questions such as, why did you come to ACE? Do you like ACE so far? And how/why do you feel you’ll do better at ACE? Jessica McGee, 15, responded, “I came to ACE to do better and so far I really like it here, I feel I will do better here because the teachers give you one on one help with your work”. Next we interviewed Sharhonda Perkins, 15, and she said “I really disliked the high school and I like ACE so far because of the smaller environment. I think I’ll do better here at ACE because I am more willing to pay attention”.

Next was Sam Rodriguez, 16, and he said “I hated the high school, and I really like ACE so far because there is much less drama. I am trying to play football this year and I must improve my grades, and here I find it easier to get my work done”. So far, most of the new students are adjusting very well to their new school. Many of the new students feel as if they are improving already, and are willing to do their work and get the job done here at ACE. At least that’s the way Christopher Ogiste, 15, feels about it. He said, “ACE is much smaller, and I have difficulties dealing with the large amounts of people at the high school. I like ACE so far because it is more hands on. I really like the teachers here and I feel I can get my work done easier now”.

The last person we interviewed was Lauren Symone, 15, and here’s what she had to say “I came to ACE to get my grades up, I cared less at the high school about my work. I like ACE so far because they have easier academics and it seems as if the teachers care a lot more, which definitely boosts kid’s self-esteems to do the work.

ACE has students visiting everyday, new faces on the daily. ACE is definitely gaining more and more students also, as others graduate and open up space for the other students who are much younger and just beginning their high school days. What can we say, ACE is the place!
