2007 Perry Awards by Hannah Sachs

This year at ACE,  the Perry Awards were held. The Perry Awards is a ceremony that happens once every semester to reward students for astonishing work and effort. There were five students that won this year, for the subjects of English, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Physical Education.

Phoebe Ermert, the winner for the English award, was very surprised to win this award. “It was pretty random, I didn’t even know what a Perry award was.” She has come along way and said it was a big accomplishment.

Another winner, Allison Westfall, for Social Studies exclaimed, “I never knew I could win money for doing well in school, I’m glad I tried hard.” A lot of these students weren’t even aware of this ceremony but were more than happy with the outcome.

Isaiah Love was awarded with the Science award. “My mother was very proud of me, and that felt really good.” Todd Coons, winner of the Physical Education award had failed gym last year, “me getting this award was great motivation to keep up the good work.”

ACE is overjoyed with the amount of hard working students in this school. Although these five got special rewards for their accomplishments, students are looking forward to the next year’s Perry Awards.
